If you don't do this, your browser will likely try to feed the file to the sound player, without your getting a chance to save it; then, at best, you can try to fish it out of the browser cache.

Sorry, this page is untested. Given the fine reliability of Windows NT and most Microsoft products, my one NT machine is crashing regularly, where the hardware appears to be fine. Perhaps I can test it in Linux. Let me know if it works, or doesn't.
